Ingredients, Preparation & Allergens

The Fat Carrot handles and prepares food in accordance with the standards required for food hygiene best practice. We also pay the strictest attention to ensuring that our food is truly vegetarian or vegan. The kitchen is completely meat free and raw state dairy ingredients are stored separately to vegetables and dairy free alternatives. Vegetarian and vegan meals are cooked in accordance with the definitions of the Vegetarian Society UK. All food is cooked by hand in small batches using quality ingredients. Whilst many of our products are fairly indulgent we also try to cater for a range of needs and lower fat/ calorie recipes are often available. NB: We can make food for special dietary requirements to order.
Allergens

While we observe the highest standards of cleanliness and care our products may contain trace amounts of allergens as our kitchen regularly uses Nuts, Wheat, Oats, Barley & other cereals, Soya, Eggs, Milk, Sesame Seeds, Celery, Mustard and Sulphites.

Environmental Policy

Many of our ingredients are sourced as locally as possible to minimise our carbon footprint.
Wherever possible, our packaging consists of paper, card, tin foil, or compostable ‘plastic’.

We support and encourage the use of reusable bags. If you wish to have meals or cakes put into your own containers please ask.

Catering bookings can opt to donate food waste to our local animal sanctuary.

By cutting down or eliminating meat and/or animal products from your diet we are well on the way to becoming more planet kind…..
